Brooklyn Greenspa’s stance
At Brooklyn Greenspa, we care about animals and the environment as much as we do about your skin.
Éminence Organic Skin Care, our skin care line, is cruelty-free. Both make up lines we sell, Beauty Without Cruelty and Vegan Cosmetics Quest, are cruelty-free. Our nail polish line, Maggie Anne, likewise. Discovering this, many of our clients go on to ask if either their skin care line or make up line is animal friendly too.
Why test on animals in this day and age?
The reason that companies test on animals is that they want to and do sell to the People’s Republic of China (PRC) which requires that any skin care items or cosmetics sold there be tested on animals.
NOT animal friendly
Some of the companies that I know that are NOT animal friendly are: Clarins, L’Oréal/Lancôme/Helena Rubinstein/Kiehl’s/Maybelline, Revlon/Almay, Rimmel London, Clinique/Estée Lauder/MAC/La Mer/Bobbi Brown/Origins, Borghese, Bourjois, Chanel, Covergirl, Elizabeth Arden, Olay.
Good news!
Companies are becoming more aware of people’s negative attitude towards their animal testing, so please let me know if you ever hear of anything different since I only want to put correct information on our blogs. However, if companies want to sell their skin care, make up or fragrance items, etc. in the PRC, they must test on animals.
