What is Profhilo®?

What’s all the buzz about Profhilo® and how does it work?

Here are a few bullet points to give our clients a basic understanding:

• Profhilo® is a revolutionary “beneath the skin” hydrating treatment, made with the patented NAHYCO® technology, and designed to improve the quality of skin from within.

• It was developed by IBSA, a multinational pharmaceutical corporation and has become one of the most popular skin treatments worldwide since its launch in 2015.

• Its unique composition features the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid available in the market and has a low viscosity. For more information on hyaluronic acid click here.

• Unlike dermal fillers where the results are very much localised (with the injected product staying where it was delivered), Profhilo® disperses evenly throughout the skin so the effects are visible throughout the whole face or area treated.

• It is used effectively to treat even the most challenging areas such as neck, décolleté and upper hands, where there is often crepiness and skin laxity.

• Beyond delivering Hyaluronic Acid, Profhilo® works at a cellular level, its unique makeup stimulating new collagen and elastin cells to give a firmer, more youthful skin. Results are not usually seen for 6-8 weeks after the first treatment, while the process is happening. 

• The first treatment is followed up by a second treatment, about a month apart – thereafter your practitioner will advise you as to the regularity of re-treatment (see below).

Who is it for?

• Profhilo® is suitable for anyone over 18 years of age who is experiencing issues with skin laxity.  You can be sure that our Nurse Practitioner, Kimberley, will give honest, safe and ethical advice to anyone who is interested.
• It is not suitable for anyone who pregnant, breast feeding or those who have a known hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid.

 How long will effects last?

• The length of effects depends on various factors, not least your homecare regime.  At Brooklyn Greenspa we have an award-winning Organic Skincare range called Éminence with in-house specialists who can advise you on a bespoke routine to get your skin to its best version.
• Normally one would re-treat an area every 6-9 months.  

Is it safe?

• As with any medical grade and injectable treatment there are risks that will be covered by our Nurse Practitioner.
• You should only have a nurse or doctor who has been trained an authorised training centre administer Profhilo@.
